Randy began his financial planning and insurance career in 1973 and started his own agency in 1975 as an Independent Insurance Agent. His business grew with the acquisition of several smaller agencies, and Financial & Insurance Services of Texas was formed in 1987. Ramsey Insurance Agency was acquired in 1995 and operates as a division of Financial & Insurance Services of Texas.

Ramsey Insurance Agency is a full service insurance agency, serving the needs of about 1,200 individuals and families, and 100 business concerns in the Dallas area. With a primary objective to establish personal and/or business relationships with clients and provide dedicated personalized service, the firm offers extensive insurance products.

He received his Bachelor's degree in Business Management from LeTourneau University in 1993.
